About

Alison Deans is a member of the Investment Committee at Main Sequence where she evaluates investments in technology-enabled businesses that are driving innovation and business growth across Main Sequence’s challenge areas.

Passionate about driving  humanity scale healthcare, she also serves as the chair of Cochlear, the world leader in implantable hearing solutions, and as a non-executive director of Ramsay Health Care.

Prior to joining Main Sequence, Alison served as the first managing director of eBay Australia and was subsequently the CEO of two technology funds: publicly-listed Ecorp; and then Netus.

Today, she supports several entrepreneurs building technology-enabled businesses and social ventures in Australia – including as a director of Deputy, The Observership Program and SCEGGS Darlinghurst.

Alison grew up in the UK and studied Natural Sciences (Physics and Mathematics) at the University of Cambridge before going on to study for her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Stanford University.
