Head of Legal
Virginia Crawter is the head of legal at Main Sequence, overseeing legal, compliance and governance aspects of Main Sequence, including investment activities. Virginia has been with the firm since its inception and brings a wealth of experience as a commercial lawyer with a focus on intellectual property and venture capital law.
Prior to joining Main Sequence, she worked as a lawyer for both Corrs Chambers Westgarth and CSIRO in Sydney, and Vodafone Group in London.
Virginia grew up on a cattle station west of Gunnedah, is a mother of very loud and energetic boys and is passionate about growing “things”- companies, founders, the Australian startup ecosystem (and, less successfully, plants).
Virginia holds degrees in both Biomedical Science and Law, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has completed the Executive Education Program in Venture Capital at the University of California, Berkeley. She loves plain English, pragmatism and learning new things.
